We finally will be hosting Beginners Courses again in May 2021 on our outdoor range, with a further course beginning at the end of July 2021, subject to the Governments Roadblock(map) continuing as expected. We will be introducing full Covid safe precautions per Archery GB guidance and our coaches Risk Assessments. Our Coaches and assistants will wear masks or shields as appropriate.
It is a requirement of Archery GB, that all archers wishing to join an archery club have completed a formal Beginner Course. Our Beginner Course will provide you with a comprehensive introduction into archery, including range safety, correct shooting technique, archery rules. We provide all equipment and are fully insured. You would just need to wear appropriate clothing ( close fitting across arms and chest and closed toed shoes), and we will take care of the rest. The courses will be run by either or both of our Archery GB qualified coaches, and will allow you to join THWAC as a full member and practice almost whenever you wish with our friendly and welcoming members, plus shoot at any archery club in the country (subject to membership of Archery GB, the sport’s administrative body).
Archery is extremely inclusive regardless of age or physical ability, though we would generally encourage children to be of at least 12 years of age. Any children under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at each session, and at all times when visiting the club. It is important to advise the coaches of any physical, mental or medical condition or medication being taken which may affect or inhibit your archery in order to give you the best chance of achieving your potential
Update: The May course is now fully booked. There are a very few places still available for the July course.
The fee for the course is £48.00 and is payable in advance by cheque. There is a link Beginners Course Application Form form both above and below the image opposite.
